USA Badminton is pleased to announce two additions to the Board of Directors, Patty Pflaging and Yucca Rieschel.

Both Pflaging and Rieschel will serve in independent director positions. They were selected by the Nominating & Governance Committee in collaboration with Ethics/Judicial Committee.

Pflaging, a technology marketing and business development executive from the San Francisco Bay Area, will serve for two years through 2020, then become eligible to serve a full four-year term, subject to Nominating & Governance Committee review at that time.

A native Texan, Pflaging holds degrees in computer science and managerial studies from Rice University. She and her husband and three children, one of whom plays competitive badminton, live in the San Francisco area.

Rieschel, a trustee of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Foundation and the USOC sport ambassador for badminton, will begin a four-year term as an independent director that will run through the end of 2022. Following her first term, Rieschel is eligible to serve a second four-year term, subject to Nominating & Governance Committee review.

Having lived in the U.S., Tokyo, and most recently Shanghai for the last 11 years with her husband and two children, Rieschel holds a degree in economics from Santa Clara University. She and her family reside in Seattle.

Pflaging and Rieschel will begin their service at the November 11 Board meeting in Los Angeles.
