Dear USA Badminton Members,

I am reaching out to you on behalf of USA Badminton to ensure you that we are committed to enabling a safe environment for our community and members. The safety of our participants and adherence to Safe Sport is of paramount importance to USAB and USAB has a zero tolerance policy for abuse and misconduct. This includes not only on-court safety, but also off-court safety in any part of USAB’s programs.

Abuse or the threat of abuse can be a mountainous task to address. We urge everyone in badminton to be vigilant and immediately report any instances of misconduct that come to their attention. In an effort to ensure the safety of the badminton community, USAB is working closely with the U.S. Olympic Committee and the U.S. Center for Safe Sport. Through USAB’s Safe Sport Policy there is mandatory training for members and staff appointed to a position of authority over athletes, including any individuals who have frequent contact with athletes.

The success of the Safe Sport program and the safety of all involved in USAB is dependence of everyone involved to be vigilant. The responsibility of recognizing and reporting misconduct belongs to each of us, so I wanted to be sure that you had the information on how to do so.
