On the second day of the Yonex Thailand Open Super 1000, men's doubles brothers Phillip and Ryan Chew faced Thai players Apiluk Gaterahong and Natchanon Tulamok. The first game was tight with the Thai pair maintaining a lead before the Chews won the game 21-17 with an impressive six straight points at the very end. In the second game, it was the American pair that began the game with a commanding seven-point start and wouldn't give up the lead en route to winning the second game, 21-12. Phillip and Ryan Chew will face Ong Yew Sin and Teo Ee Yi of Malaysia on Thursday. The Malaysian pair won their match against India’s M. R. Arjun and Dhruv Kapila earlier in the day.
Iris Wang, competing for the U.S. in women’s singles, will also be playing on Thursday against the World No.18 Danish Mia Blichfeldt. Wang won her match on Tuesday against World No. 34, Line Højmark KjaerSfeldt, who's also from Denmark.
