HEAD COACH POSITIONS
Overview
USA Badminton (USAB) is seeking Head Coaches for the following tournaments.  The Head Coach position is a voluntary position and is funded by USAB for travel, hotel and per diem.  However, in an event of funding falls shorts, reimbursement of expenses will be reduced at USAB's sole discretion. The main task of the Head Coach is to provide leadership and coaching service for the USAB Team/Individuals, and work closely with team manager (if available) for the following:

Pan Am Mixed Team Championships
Responsibility: Head Coach and Team Manager
Venue: Lima, Peru
Events: Team
Date: February 14-17, 2019  (Head Coach is expected to arrive 48 hours prior to the Championships)

Sudirman Cup
Responsibility: Head Coach and Team Manager
Venue: Nanning, China
Events: Team 
Date: May 19 – 26, 2019 Head Coach is expected to arrive 48 hours prior to the Championships)

Pan Am Juniors Championships
Responsibility: Head Coach 
Venue: Moncton, Canada
Events: Team & Individual
Date: July 7 – 20, 2019  (Head Coach is expected to arrive 48 hours prior to the Championships)


World Junior Championships
Responsibility: Head Coach and Team Manager
Venue: Kazan, Russia
Events: Team & Individual
Date: October 7-13, 2019  (Head Coach is expected to arrive 48 hours prior to the Championships)


Who Can Apply?
2019 Head Coach Positions are open to USAB Level 2 – Level 4 High Performance Certified Coaches
Priority will be given to applicants with USAB Level 3 High Performance Coach Certification

Prerequisite
Applicants must:
- be current USAB member in good standing
- have an approved currently background check on file
- have completed Safe Sport Training
- be USAB Level 2 – Level 4 High Performance Certified Coach

ASSISTANT COACH POSITIONS

Overview
USA Badminton (USAB) is seeking Assistant Coaches for the various events in 2019. These positions are voluntary and require long work hours. 

Pan Am Mixed Team Championships
Responsibility: Assistant Team Coach
Venue: Lima, Peru
Events: Team
Date: February 14-17, 2019  (Coach is expected to arrive 48 hours prior to the Championships)


Sudirman Cup
Responsibility: Assistant Team Coach
Venue: Nanning, China

Expectation
- These positions are volunteer positions which require with long and unpredictable work hours. 
- Once an applicant accepts the position as Assistant Coach, he or she must be committed. Failure to fulfil his/her responsibility and/or withdrawal at the last minute will impact future applications. If     an applicant withdraws for what so ever reason, after his/her travel arrangement has been made, he /she is responsible to refund the travel cost to USAB.
- Applicants must be active members of USAB in good standing and have an active (current) background check on file.
- Applicants are expected to be able to use communication technology such as Google Hangout or Skype.
- The Assistant Coach should remain independent regardless of his/her affiliation of current or past club, player or businesses and manage ‘Conflict of Interest’ situations at the competition with the      Team Manager and/or Head Coach.
- Selected coaches must email a completed and signed USAB Coach Code of Conduct.

Funding
There is currently no funding for travel, accommodation and meals for the Pan Am Mixed Team Championships, Sudirman Cup and World Junior Championships Team Assistant Coaches.
USAB may only fund travel, hotel and provide an honorarium for the Assistant Coach positions for the Pan Am Junior Championship.
However, if funds are limited, USAB reserves the right to make adjustments to reimburse expense claims by PAJC Assistant Coaches.

Who Can Apply?
2019 Pan Am Mixed Team Championship Assistant Coach Position – The applicant must be USAB Level 2 or Level 3 High Performance Certified. Priority will be given to Level 3 USAB Certified High Performance Coach.

2019 Sudirman Cup Assistant Coach Position – The applicant must be USAB Level 2 or Level 3 High Performance Certified. Priority will be given to Level 3 USAB Certified High Performance Coach

2019 Pan Am Junior Championship Assistant Coach Position – The applicant must be USAB Level  2 High Performance Certified

2019 World Junior Championship Assistant Coach Position – The applicant must be USAB Level 2 High Performance Certified. Priority will be given to applicants with USAB Level 3 High Performance Coach Certification
