Colorado Springs, Colo – The USA Artistic Swimming (USAAS) Board of Directors unanimously approved the appointment of three top sports and industry experts to serve as independent directors.  The three highly qualified professionals of Kerhyl Gantt, Jennell Lynch and Joanne Pasternack immediately join the board..

“These three new independent directors bring to our board a passion for growing the sport; supporting our initiatives in diversity, equity and inclusion; and sharing their expertise in strengthening our brand and outreach,” said Denise Shively, USAAS president.  “We are honored to have their talent and leadership on our board of directors.”

Gantt, Lynch and Pasternack each have a professional background and skill set that complements the other members of USAAS’s recently expanded, 15-member board. Gannt brings more than 13 years of experience with Nike and is currently the Digital Brand Director of the Jordan Brand. Lynch has a professional background that spans several specialties. Her experience includes communications positions with the U.S. Senate and the NFL Players Association, and organizational management roles with The Marathon Club and National Association of Investment Companies.  Now an entrepreneur, she cofounded Executive Doula Agency. Pasternack also boasts a diverse resume as she spent the early part of her career as an analyst with the City of Mountain View, Calif. She then spent ten plus years in community relations with the San Francisco 49ers and Golden State Warriors. She currently serves in two high-level roles as the President and Chief Impact Officer of Oliver + Rose LLC and the Executive Director of The Golden Heart Fund.  In addition to their professional attributes, each independent director has a connection to sport.  Gantt was a collegiate swimmer at Howard University, Lynch captained her cheer and dance teams at Norfolk State and Pasternack competed as an elite figure skater.

USAAS CEO Adam Andrasko said, “I am excited to welcome these three incredible individuals to the board of directors. The level of professional experience, athletic connection and interest in serving our organization should fill our members with pride. Independent directors play a vital role in our organization and combined with the other 12 board members we have a group that I know will make USAAS better than we have ever been.”

The three new independent directors fill the vacancies of James Anderson, Margaret Mahoney and Lori Zabel, who termed off of the board of directors after eight years of service each. Anderson, Mahoney and Zabel served as the first official Independent directors of the organization and their participation will leave a lasting impact that our newly appointed independent directors will strive to build upon.
