COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- Alyssa Jacobs has accepted the position of Communications and Partnership Marketing Coordinator for USA Artistic Swimming and will begin to take on some of her role’s responsibilities in November before relocating in 2021.

Jacobs joins our team from Columbus, Ohio where she graduated this May with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and is in the process of completing a Master of Science in Sports Management. While at The Ohio State University, Alyssa was a member of the university’s dance team where she won three national championships in three years at UDA Collegiate Nationals.

She also served as the primary communications contact for Ohio State Synchronized Swimming for two years, managing social media and website content during their 2019 sweep of the US Collegiate Championship. Her time with the program coincided with current National Team member Nikki Dzurko’s collegiate run. While working in the athletic communications department, Alyssa had the chance to assist with communications and event duties for nearly all of the university’s 36 sports including Men’s and Women’s Basketball and Football. She also spent time with the City of Columbus Recreation and Parks Sports Department where she took on a Marketing and Engagement role as a graduate intern.

As a former competitive dancer who dedicated 18 years to her craft, Alyssa understands the grit and unique fusion of artistry and athleticism that it takes to compete in a sport like Artistic Swimming. She is eager to get to work and help grow a sport she has developed a high level of respect for.

Alyssa is a native of Wisconsin where she attended school while training in all styles of dance across the border in Minnesota. She is excited to grow in her new position and explore all that Colorado has to offer.
