(HENDERSON, Nevada) - USA Synchro announces today their partnership with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority to host the 2020 U.S. Masters Championship at the Henderson Multigenerational Center in Henderson, Nevada on October 15-18.

The annual U.S. Masters Championship is for artistic swimmers that are 20 years old or over. Athletes will compete in the technical and freestyle portions of solo, duet, team and combo events throughout the four days of competition with all of the points going toward the overall 'High Point Team Award' to be handed out on the final day of competition.

This will be the first time in almost a decade that the U.S. Masters Championship has made a stop in the state of Nevada. Previously, the Henderson Multigenerational Center hosted the Masters Championship in 2014, and USA Artistic Swimming Event Director, Baylee Robinson, said he is excited to bring this event back to Nevada.

“We are very excited to be bringing an event back to Nevada in 2020,” Robinson said. “The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority and the City of Henderson have been great partners in planning the Masters Championship and we look forward to visiting the city and hosting our athletes in Henderson.”

The U.S. Masters Championship brings in athletes from ages 20 to 90 from around the world, and the four-day event provides plenty of time for athletes to explore and take in the area. The proximity of the pool to all of the excitement things the Las Vegas area has to offer gives our Masters athletes plenty of activities to do when they dry off.

“It’s thrilling to welcome USA Synchro and the 2020 Masters Championship to fabulous Las Vegas,” said Lisa Moteley, director of sports marketing for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. “Las Vegas is quickly becoming the Sports Capital of the World with a growing roster of professional teams and championship events, and we look forward to hosting such a high caliber group of athletes and their fans. From world-class sports and entertainment to unmatched dining, shopping and spa options and more, Las Vegas is the ideal location to host the 2020 Masters Championship.”

The beautiful Henderson Multigenerational Center is no stranger to artistic swimming competitions and Parks and Recreation Director, Shari Ferguson, said the facility can perfectly showcase the sport to anyone who enters the gates.

“We are pleased to welcome the athletes, coaches, judges and family members from around the world to Henderson Multigenerational Aquatic Complex for USA Artistic Swimming’s 2020 US Masters Championship,” Ferguson said. “Our aquatic complex offers a premier experience for competitors and spectators alike and also provides an outstanding opportunity for people in Henderson to discover the athleticism, grace and artistry of artistic swimming.”

The 2020 U.S. Masters Championship will take place on October 15-18, 2020. Keep up with updates here.
