USA Artistic Swimming is excited to announce a new partnership with AquaMermaid, the world’s largest mermaid swimming school. This partnership will offer mermaid instructor certifications to USA Artistic Swimming clubs and give them the opportunity to offer recreational and competitive programs of mermaid swimming to their athletes.

AquaMermaid was founded in 2015 by Marielle Chartier Hénault who wanted to make mermaid dreams come true by teaching people how to swim like a mermaid. In five years, AquaMermaid has grown to 10 locations throughout the U.S. and Canada. AustinChicagoLas VegasNashvillePhoenix, and South Florida are the current cities you can find AquaMermaid programs. They offer discovery lessons, private parties, fitness membership, and entertainment events.

AquaMermaid founder, Marielle Chartier Hénault said mermaiding combines different artistic swimming techniques to help the swimmers glide in the water like a real mermaid and is excited to offer this discipline to USA Artistic Swimming clubs.

“Aquamermaid is thrilled about this new partnership,” Hénault said. “It is a big step for mermaid swimming to become an official sport and a great opportunity for artistic swimmers to discover this new discipline and expand the family of artistic swimming.”

As the popularity for mermaiding increased, USA Artistic Swimming CEO Adam Andrasko stated how this unique partnership will allow the two organizations to work together to increase awareness of artistic swimming and the mermaid discipline within the U.S.

"Through this partnership we are opening up membership growth opportunities for both of our organizations," Andrasko said. "Aquamermaid will share promotional information about all USAAS clubs, programs and events. We will reach who already possess an interest in our sport. Every, kid, parent or grandparent that puts on a Aqaumermaid tail will be informed about what USAAS and its member clubs offer. In addition Aquamermaid will provide every USA Artistic Swimming club the opportunity acquire their certification. Offering USAAS member clubs the ability to run Aquamermaid programs clearly benefits Aquamermaid, but it will also benefit member clubs through a new revenue stream and artistic swimming recruitment efforts. There is tremendous potential for everyone involved and we will work together to maximize that potential."

Hénault said mermaid instructor certification is now available and can offer a new source of revenues for clubs while offering a fun, unique, and turn-key program.
