(COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.,) USA Synchronized Swimming is pleased to welcome Lauren McFall Gardener and Stacey Chapman to the USA Synchro Board of Directors. Gardner and Chapman will serve as independent members of the board and use their expertise to advance the organization.
Lauren McFall Gardner
Lauren McFall Gardner was the team captain of the bronze medal-winning US Synchronized Swimming team at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. Prior to that she was a 16-year member of the Santa Clara Aquamaids where she won numerous Junior and Senior National Championships. Lauren was a featured athlete in the 2004 Documentary “Sync or Swim”. She was also featured in the 2004 Aflac commercial alongside her teammates and the famous Aflac duck.
Following the Olympics Lauren had a decade+ career on Wall Street, focused on electronic trading and data solutions for financial markets in both Fixed Income and Foreign Exchange. Lauren directed and managed multiple salesteams during her tenures at Creditex, trueEX, NEX and OpenDoor Securities. She was responsible for the global promotion and adoption of their electronic trading, data and solutions platforms.
Currently, Lauren is a sales executive with Lander Analytics, a NY-based consulting firm. She is helping clients enhance their analytical capabilities to drive value from data using cutting edge data science, machine learning and artificial intelligence. Lauren holds a B.A. in Political Science, with a concentration in International Relations, from Columbia University.
Lauren lives in Sacramento, California with her husband (2-time Olympian and gold medalist for Men’s Indoor Volleyball, Gabe Gardner) and their 4 children. Occasionally, Lauren meets up with her teammates and they throw on a noseclip and a swimsuit for old times’ sake and perform for their families.
Stacey Chapman has over 20 years of experience in the sports industry including leadership roles in brand, sports marketing, partnership activation and youth coaching education for brands like NIKE and the Portland Trail Blazers. She began her career at the LA84 Foundation, the legacy of the ‘84 Olympic Summer Games, designing and implementing youth sport coaching education programs.
She then joined NIKE, where she spent the next 12 years in leadership roles in Brand Management, Sports Marketing and Community Affairs. Stacey played collegiate soccer at U.C Berkeley and participated in the NCAA Division I Final Four.
Her mother is an active USA Synchro Swimming Masters swimmer. Stacey lives in Vancouver, WA where she leads marketing for Burgerville, a PNW restaurant chain that prides itself serving high-quality, locally sourced ingredients.
