LEWISVILLE, Texas – The Santa Clara Aquamaids won both combo finals Thursday on the first full day of competition at the U.S. Junior and 13-15 National Championships.
Santa Clara took gold in the 13-15 combo final, totaling 71.3333 points at the Westside Aquatics Center in Lewisville, Texas. The New Canaan Y Aquianas were second at 67.0333 points, and the Meraquas of Irvine were third with 63.8333 points.
The Aquamaids also won the junior combo final, followed by the La Mirada Aquabelles and ANA Synchro of Andover, Mass.
The final phase of the U.S. National 12 & Under National Team trials was also held Thursday, with the squad to be announced at a later date. The final phase of trials for the U.S. 13-15 National Team will be held on Sunday. Up to 12 athletes will be named to each team.
