National Team Championship

Team titles shall be calculated using a cumulative point system based on final placement in each event, i.e. individual (calculated from elimination round), team and mixed team events, where first place is awarded 10 points, second place is 8 points, third place is 6 points, fourth place 5 points, fifth place 4 points, sixth place 3 points, seventh place 2 points and eighth place 1 point.

For the 2019 U.S. National Outdoor Collegiate Championships, a school’s top 3 of 4 performing divisions will be counted toward the national team championship*. Future National Team Championships (National 3D Collegiate Championships and National Outdoor Collegiate Championships) will include all four divisions. *Note: Calculation is total cumulative points (individual, team, and mixed team points combined) of each division.

Each school is allowed a maximum of three archers earning points for individual events and one team in each team event. If a school has more than three archers finish in the top eight, only the top three finishes will be included for purposes of point calculations and archers from other institutions will be moved up in points placement (Example: university A has finishers in 3rd, 4th, 6th, and 7th places. The 7th place archer would not receive points toward team championship calculation, and archer in 8th place would receive 7th place point, archer in 9th place would receive 8th place points).

Ties

Individual and Teams Compound and Bowhunter Divisions:
Archers/teams in fifth thru eighth place are ranked by the total score of the last match. In the event of a tie for fifth thru eighth place the tie will be broken by the highest number of total 10’s shot in the ¼ finals. If still tied, the highest number of X’s will be used to break the tie. Should the archers/teams remain tied, the combined ranking points of all tied positions will be added together and divided by the number of archers/teams in the tied positions. For example: fifth and sixth place remain tied (3+2/2 = 2.5pts each).
Individual and Teams Recurve and Barebow Divisions:
Archers/Teams in fifth thru eighth place are ranked by set points from the from the last match. If tied with set points, archers/teams are then ranked by the total raw score from the last match. If still tied the highest number of 10’s will be used to break the tie. If still tied, the highest number of X’s will be used to break the tie. Should the archers/teams remain tied, the combined ranking points of all the tied positions will be added together and divided by the number of archers/teams in the tied positions. For example: fifth and sixth place remain tied (3+2/2 = 2.5 pts. each).

Team National Champion will be determined by the highest cumulative points total for all events (individual, team and mixed team). Should there still be a tie, the school with the highest number of first place finishes will be declared to be the winner. Should a tie remain, the school with highest number of second finishes will be declared the winner. Should a tie remain, then the school with highest number of third place finishes will be declared the winner. Should a tie still exist, those schools, will share in the national title as co-national champions. To compete for a team title, a minimum of three (3) individual archers must compete for the same school team.
