Now Accepting Nominations for 2018 Coach of the Year Awards

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado - USA Archery appreciates and highly values the effort and commitment of the coaches who dedicate themselves to helping our archers grow and achieve their goals. Each year USA Archery recognizes their efforts and we invite our members to nominate outstanding coaches in each of the following categories:

  • Volunteer Coach of the Year nominee - Female
  • Volunteer Coach of the Year nominee - Male
  • Developmental Coach of the Year nominee - Female
  • Developmental Coach of the Year nominee - Male
  • The “Doc” Counsilman Science Award nominee

Descriptions of each category are defined here. Awards are based on the accomplishments from October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2018. Nominees should demonstrate outstanding accomplishments in archery in the past year. Examples of such accomplishments may include, but are not limited to: podium results of the coach's athletes at State, National and international events and contribution to the advancement of archery and the community. 

To be eligible to be nominated, coaches must have:

  • Current USA Archery Level 2 or higher Certification
  • Current USA Archery Membership

Coach of the Year Nominations may only be made by current USA Archery members and must be submitted here by 5pm MT October 23, 2018.  We ask that club members coordinate and consolidate nominations to one nomination per coach.

Once nominations have been received, a committee will narrow the nominees to a maximum of 5 nominees per category. The committee will be composed of:

  • Chair of the JOAD Committee
  • Chair of the Collegiate Committee
  • JOAD Athlete Representative
  • Collegiate Committee Athlete Representative
  • Program administrator for the Recurve Junior Dream Team Program
  • Program administrator for the Compound Junior Dream Team Program

The USA Archery membership will vote for the Coach of the Year in each category after the nomination committee has produced a slate of a maximum of 5 nominees per category.
