Applications Now Open for 2015 Ann Hoyt and Jim Easton JOAD Grants

Feb. 05, 2015, 1:53 p.m. (ET)

USA Archery, thanks to funds provided by the Ann Hoyt Legacy Fund and the Easton Foundations, is currently accepting application for the first Ann Hoyt/Jim Easton Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) Grant cycle of 2015. The deadline for applications is April 1st, 2015.

These Grants are made possible by funding through funds established by archery legend Ann Hoyt, and current supporter of youth archery, Jim Easton. USA Archery distributes these Grants to benefit USA Archery Clubs in good standing.

Grant funds can be used for target mats, stands, archery equipment, general supplies, and coaching certification to support growth of your club’s infrastructure.

Many clubs have benefited from Ann Hoyt/Jim Easton JOAD Grants. Renee Grant, Director of the LOGA Archers Club, comments:

The grant has brought a new level of excitement and commitment to the LOGA Archers.  We were a team of competitive shooters, competing in state and national tournaments until we received the grant.   This grant allowed us to bring in new archers with little or no shooting experience.  As a coach, I had the pleasure of watching my competitive archers become mentors and leaders.   They began to communicate with the coaches, not just about their own practice and goals, but also about the progress of the new team members.  They began to show up early and stay late so they could get in their own practice time and still spend time helping their teammates.  At the first tournament of the year, all of our JOAD team members medaled in their division, including all the new members.  The coaches thought the grant would help us obtain new equipment and give us the ability to reach new shooters, which it did, but it did so much more.”

Grant applications are highly completive, and clubs are strongly encouraged to be thorough in preparing their applications and supporting documents. Grant requests may not exceed $2,000.

Complete application and supporting documentation must be submitted via-email to clubs@usarchery.org
