Jordan Stolz was a perfect 3-for-3 this weekend at the U.S. Long Track Speedskating Championships. And with each National Title, Stolz, a 2022 Olympian, set a Track Record at the Pettit National Ice Center in Milwaukee.
Stolz’s dominant performances highlighted a four-day event that also included three wins by 2022 Olympic Bronze medalist Ethan Cepuran, three wins by two-time Olympian and Olympic medalist Mia Manganello Kilburg and two wins by 2022 Olympic Gold medalist Erin Jackson.
The 18-year-old Stolz, who became the youngest man to win an individual World Cup race in the season opener in November in Stavanger, Norway, won National Titles in the Men’s 500m, 1000m and 1500m. He also won at those distances in the US Speedskating Fall World Cup Qualifier in October.
Stolz won the 500m on Thursday with a time of 34.40 seconds, beating 2022 Olympian Austin Kleba by .69 seconds. Kleba won the second 500m event a day later with a time of 35.09 seconds, edging Cooper McLeod by .04 seconds.
Stolz set his second Track Record Friday in winning the 1500m in 1:43.36, and he struck again Saturday in record time, winning the 1000m in 1:07.12.
Cepuran, who helped win a Bronze medal in Men’s Team Pursuit at the Olympic Winter Games last year in Beijing and two World Cup Gold medals in the fall, set an individual track record for the first time at the Pettit National Ice Center in his career Saturday in the Men’s 10000m. He won the race with a time of 13:09.04. Cepuran also won the 5000m with a time of 6:19.00 and the second Mass Start on Sunday with a time of 7:58.17.
Conor McDermott-Mostowy won the first Men’s Mass Start with a time of 7:57.87, defeating Cepuran by .18 seconds, and then finished runner-up to Cepuran in the second Mass Start by .33 seconds.
Also winning three individual events was distance specialist Manganello Kilburg, who won both Women’s Mass Start races with times of 9:19.99 and 9:28.42. She won the Women’s 3000m with a time of 4:08.23. She also teamed up with three-time Olympian Brittany Bowe and 2022 Olympian Giorgia Birkeland for a first-place finish in Women’s Team Pursuit.
Jackson, who captured her first World Cup medal of the season with a third-place finish in the 500m last month in Calgary, Alberta, captured the Women’s 500m National Title with wins in both races with times of 37.48 and 37.76 seconds.
Bowe, who won an Olympic Bronze medal in the Women’s 1000m last year in Beijing, won that event this weekend in a time of 1:14.33, beating Kimi Goetz by .40 seconds.
Goetz, a 2022 Olympian, won the 1500m with a time of 1:55.99 for one of her three podium finishes.
Greta Myers won the Women’s 5000m in a time of 7:21.60 for one of her three podium finishes.
Cepuran, McDermott-Mostowy and Rebecca Simmons each posted four podium finishes. Simmons had a second-place finish and three third-place finishes.
Carl Tatelli, Samuel Hart-Gorman, William Silk and Aiden Meacham combined for a win in the Men’s Team Pursuit on Saturday.
The World Cup tour resumes in Tomaszow Mazowiecki, Poland, Feb. 10-12.
