Jan. 06, 2021, 3:09 p.m. (ET)

On December 19th Dave Tamburrino, the ADM and Skills Ambassador for US Speedskating (USS), visited with the Academy for Speed skating Excellence (ASE)/Pre-ASE Team for their training session at the Pettit National Ice Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Dave was invited to speak with the athletes after their training session with Head Short Track Coach of the ASE, Hongyang Wang. The purpose of the visit was to observe a training session, engage with the team and further enhance the relationship that ASE/Pre-ASE has with USS. Through this engagement, USS hopes to have a greater understanding of what clubs and training teams need to further advance athlete development.

Dave spoke to the group of athletes, and praised them for the great progress they were making as a result of all of their hard work, and encouraged them to keep working together as a team. Dave also reminded them that it was just as important to work on mental preparation as it is to prepare physically.

Overall, Dave Tamburrino’s visit with the ASE/Pre-ASE team helped develop the overall relationship with USS and gained a better understanding of what the teams’ needs are for their growth within speed skating.
