Two-time Olympic speedskater, World Champion and World Record Holder Brittany Bowe was inducted into the Florida Atlantic University's Athletic Hall of Fame, along with seven other legendary athletes from the school.

In a statement on her Instagram account, Brittany wrote,

"Humbled and honored to be inducted into Florida Atlantic University’s Hall of Fame.

A huge thank you to @chancedugan and @shanlitt for giving me the opportunity to make a childhood dream of playing college basketball a reality. Thank you for demanding excellence, teaching me how to be a student of the game, and constantly pushing me past my comfort zone. The lessons learned and the experiences gained under your guidance prepared me to have the ability to accel under pressure and at the face of adversity. There is no doubt in my mind that because of what you two have done for me has lead me to chase and achieve another childhood dream of becoming an Olympic medalist.

To my teammates, thank you for being a part of my life on and off the court. We have been through the trenches together, experienced the highest of highs and lowest of lows together, we have won and lost together. The togetherness I have felt with you ladies is something I will cherish forever and I most certainly will never forget.

Thank you @fauathletics for giving me the tools to be a successful student- athlete, graduating with honors and awarded with the 2010 female athlete of the year. The support the athletic department has given me is privilege that I will always be grateful for.

Thank you to my family for your unwavering love and support. There wasn’t a home game that I couldn’t look up in the stands and see, hear, and feel your support. I also want to say thank you for always putting faith at the forefront of everything I’ve done— because when I have faith... and something to believe in, it makes the impossible, possible.

It has taken an army of people to build a platform of success for me and with so much owl pride, I say thank you for being a part of that. Go owls"

Other inductees were quarterback Rusty Smith, football coach Howard Schnellenberger, baseball coach John McCormack, softball coach Joan Joyce, running back Alfred Morris, baseball outfielder Jeff Fiorentino and softball pitcher Chris Sutcliffe.

Congrats to Brittany for her accomplishments!!
