Dear Friends and Colleagues:
This is a proud day for Olympic and Paralympic sport. We are thrilled to announce that the United States Olympic Committee has formally changed its name to the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee. The name change – which was unanimously approved by our board – is effective immediately and is the latest step in our ongoing commitment to Paralympic inclusion.

As you know, our mission is to empower Team USA athletes to achieve competitive excellence and inspire our nation. Paralympic athletes are integral to that mission and the make-up of Team USA – and they deserve to be recognized and celebrated in equal measure. Of course, this is more than a name change – it’s a reflection of the inspiring ways Paralympians represent Team USA, on and off the field of play; of the incredible work your teams do to support them; and of our responsibility to create inclusive environments for Team USA athletes, both here at home and abroad.

You will see the new name reflected across our digital platforms today and more information regarding physical changes to signage and associated properties will be forthcoming. In the meantime, more details are available here.

Please take a moment to reflect on the collective progress we have made to make today possible. Each of you have played an important role in this important transformation and will continue to do so as we seek to advance the athletes and movements we care so deeply about.

Please help us spread the word about this exciting news and go Team USA!
