Brittany Bowe presented with the Eric Heiden Award

It's only been presented a handful of times, but two-time Olympian and Olympic bronze medalist Brittany Bowe received the 2019 Eric Heiden Athlete of the Year award during the USS Hall of Fame Awards Dinner.

Given to skaters who achieve a high level of success for the season, the Eric Heiden award was created in 2003 and is not presented every year. Here are some of the highlights from Bowe's exemplary 2018-19 season:

2019 World Single Distance Champion (1000m)

2109 World Sprint Championships – Overall bronze

14 total world cup medals in 2018-19, including 6 gold

Overall world cup gold in the 1000m

World Record in the 1000m

World Record in the 1500m

Utah Female Olympian Athlete of the Year
