Long Track World Cup Korea

23 Nov 2014 – (Seoul, Republic of Korea)- With Chinese, Russian, Czech and Italian victories, there was nothing to be seen of last season’s Dutch dominance on the final day of the second leg of the ISU World Cup Speed Skating series in Seoul. The Korean World Cup weekend finished with the Ladies’ 1000m, the men’s second 500m, and the Mass Start for both men and Ladies. In total eight different nationalities topped the podiums.

Shani Davis, Jeffrey Swider-Peltz and Maria Lamb represented Team USA in an exciting World Cup event.


-       Olympic gold medalist Shani Davis (Chicago, IL) finished 5th in the Division A 1000m race, with a time of 1.10,29.

-       Jeffrey Swider-Peltz (Chicago, IL) placed 11th in the Men’s 1000m, finishing in 1.12, 62.

-       Maria Lamb (River Falls, WI) skated her way to 5th in the Ladies 5000m, with a time of 7.28, 44.
