US SPEEDSKATING WELCOMES NEW MEDICAL DIRECTOR

KEARNS, UT (April 8, 2014) – US Speedskating (USS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Ted Kyle as its new Medical Director.  In this role, Dr. Kyle will lead the organization of medical coverage for USS Athletes, act as a coordinator for the treatment of athletes, institute a comprehensive medical policy and procedure guidelines, add outside medical partnerships and develop a system for collecting and sharing athlete records among USS Team Doctors.

“Creating a strong team concept with the USS Physicians and medical staff is absolutely necessary for athletic success. The athletes should have the best possible care regardless of time or day and I’m committed to facilitating this process and creating a best in class system” commented Dr. Kyle.

Dr. Kyle currently holds the position of Chief Medical Officer with US MRI and has worked closely with athletes and medical personnel at the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association as Official Medical Provider for the organizations medical imaging over the last four years.  In 2013, US MRI became an Official Medical Provider to US Speedskating.  At US MRI, Dr. Kyle has worked with NFL, NHL, NBA and Olympic athletes from the United States and many other countries in providing the highest level of care to help them return to their sport following injury.

Recently, Dr. Kyle acted as Medical Director and organizer for the first Medical Board for the State of Utah Athletic Commission.  In this capacity he has overseen the implementation of rules, regulations, and organization governing the medical aspects of this entity and the athletes it serves.

Prior to CMO position with US MRI, Dr. Kyle was the founder and Chief Operating Officer for Salt Lake MRI and Midvalley Radiology Group.   He also enjoyed a successful practice as a chiropractor with post-doctoral training in radiology and sports medicine.

“USS is thrilled to add someone with Dr. Kyle’s sports medicine experience and passion for Olympic Sport” commented Ted Morris, USS Executive Director. “We have an incredibly dedicated team of the best doctors in the U.S. helping our team. Adding Dr. Kyle will provide the leadership and support that these doctors warrant.”
