Camp is open to both Long Track & Short Track oriented skaters


US Speedskating’s newest camp concept is coming to the Pettit National Ice Center February 26 and 27! 
The Future of Speed is designed to be a FUN and age appropriate camp for Junior E and F athletes. This camp will feature over two hours of ice time along with dryland training and plenty of fun games and activities. Registration will be live later this week. 
Saturday 8am - 1pm
Sunday 7am - 1pm

USS will consider accepting skaters up to an age of 12 if developmentally appropriate.

 

Come Prepared

All participants are asked to bring the following:

Skates

Helmet (bike helmet ok)

Skin suit or pants and long sleeve shirt/jacket

Gloves

Neck Guard if available

Shin Guards if available

Athletic shoes

Snacks

Appropriate clothing for an ice rink

 

There will be snack breaks each day – please bring your favorite snack

 

 

COVID-19 ENTRY PROTOCOLS

All participants have to provide a negative COVID-19 test by using one of the below methods

     a)    Negative PCR test within 5 days of start of competition. Organization and cost of such is to be borne by the competitor.
    b)    Negative Rapid test within one day of start of competition. Organization and cost of such is to be borne by the competitor.

A negative test is needed to join the camp. 
All participants who are experiencing signs or symptoms of COVID-19 should not travel to the venue and should immediately go to a healthcare facility for evaluation.
Athlete and coach participants are strongly encouraged to limit themselves to essential activities (e.g. competition, training, dryland etc.) in the 10-14 days immediately preceding the 1st day of competition. All participants are strongly encouraged to avoid community activities (e.g. eating at restaurants, going to movies or bars, working out in health clubs, and other similar type public gatherings/activities) in the 10-14 days prior to first day of competition. and continuing until after completion of competition.

While in MKE, participants are strongly encouraged to continue to minimize community activities and to make every effort to stay in their own hotel room or only stay with people with whom they regularly have close sustained contact and/or close physical contact. Participants are also strongly advised to avoid close sustained contact and/or close physical contact with spectators or others that are not within the participant grouping, in particular with those people who are visiting restaurants, bars, health clubs, etc while in MKE.

Spectator Information

The event will be held at the Pettit National Ice Center. The venue will not be in exclusive use of USS therefore other ice programs might be conducted simultaneously in the building. Spectators and other patrons will be allowed in the building unless local governance will mandate changes. USS is asking all parents and family members of USS skaters to keep our athletes save by wearing a mask within the building even if not mandated. Any stricter county or state mandates will be followed if such are implemented.
