Time Standard:

Women 500m: 51.50

Men 500m: 48.00

Times had to be achieved between July 1, 2019 and prior entry deadline
Entry Deadline: January 25th, 2022 at 5pm MT

Late Entry: January 31st, 2022 at 5pm MT; a $100 late entry fee charge will apply.

Elimination All Finals Format

US Speedskating will select the Junior World Team at this competition.
To be eligible for team selection you must be eligible to compete for the US in international competition and be of ISU Junior eligible age.

Non-Vaccinated or only partially vaccinated Athletes:

Submit a negative PCR test, preferably taken within 72 hours of the start of competition AND a negative Rapid-Antigen test 24 hours prior to the start of competition. 

Fully Vaccinated Athletes:

Submit a negative PCR test, preferably taken within 72 hours of the start of competition. Please note it will have to be a PCR test – NOT a rapid test. Please submit results to

Due to the current shortage of PCR tests and potential issues of securing a test appointment, USS will accept test taken up to 5 days before start of competition if not otherwise possible. (earliest accepted test date January 30th)

A negative test is needed to join any high performance ice sessions or official practice session.

All participants who are experiencing signs or symptoms of COVID-19 should not travel to the venue and should immediately go to a healthcare facility for evaluation.

Athlete and coach participants are strongly encouraged to limit themselves to essential activities (e.g. competition, training, dryland etc.) in the 10-14 days immediately preceding the 1st day of competition. All participants are strongly encouraged to avoid community activities (e.g. eating at restaurants, going to movies or bars, working out in health clubs, and other similar type public gatherings/activities) in the 10-14 days prior to first day of competition. and continuing until after completion of competition.
While in MKE, participants are strongly encouraged to continue to minimize community activities and to make every effort to stay in their own hotel room or only stay with people with whom they regularly have close sustained contact and/or close physical contact. Participants are also strongly advised to avoid close sustained contact and/or close physical contact with spectators or others that are not within the participant grouping, in particular with those people who are visiting restaurants, bars, health clubs, etc while in MKE.

Spectator Information

The event will be held at the Pettit National Ice Center. The venue will not be in exclusive use of USS therefore other ice programs might be conducted simultaneously in the building. Spectators and other patrons will be allowed in the building unless local governance will mandate changes. 

USS is asking all parents and family members of USS skaters to keep our athletes save by wearing a mask within the building even if not mandated.
