Location: Pettit National Ice Center Hall of Fame room
Date/Time: 9/25 1pm-4pm

Instructor: Craig Gebauer - USS Level 3 Competitor Steward
Registration Link:https://forms.gle/6a55YZTKcan7itUz6

The goal of this workshop is to prepare participants to be Assistant Competition Stewards at regional short track and pack-style long track ability meets. Participation plus experience as a comp steward assistant at one or more meets may satisfy requirements for Level 1 Competitor Steward certification, per USS Officials’ certification requirements and process (https://www.teamusa.org/us-speedskating/members-and-clubs/officials/certification-and-training). Participants will become aware of the most common processes and situations, but not necessarily familiar with all rules & regulations. For the hands-on portion of the workshop, we'll focus on Meet Manager exclusively for the 2021-22 season.

The workshop will be offered in an in-person format. It will run approximately 3 hours, and will be a hands-on exercise including meet planning & set-up, creation of skating groups and events, running through a simulated meet with the most common (and some uncommon) scenarios, and generation of post-meet reports.

Pre-work required for participation includes viewing a 2020 instructional video presented by Donna Fiorenza, and installing a licensed copy of Meet Manager with supporting software. It will require 2-4 hours, so please finish the necessary work by 9/17. Participants will receive pre-work communication about video, software installation links and instructions after the registration. Any questions, please contactpnic.chief.referee@gmail.com.
