Due to COVID-19 and the subsequential postponement of the ISU Hub this event will NOT qualify a WC team. There will be no AmCup points award, so there is no ramification on national ranking by not attending. Nevertheless, if you want to race and are coming from out of town you will have to follow the below measures:

All incoming participants will have to follow certain protocols as outlined in the following. 

If you intend to ONLY skate single distances: 

  • Arrive in SLC no later than Sunday, October 18th 
  • 1st COVID-19 test on Monday (current hours 7am-12:30pm) 
  • 2nd COVID-19 test on Tuesday (current hours 7am-12:30pm) While you undergo these tests you can train on public drop-in speed skating sessions but not on FAST/NT ice 
  • Both tests have to come back negative before will be allowed on FAST/NT training sessions and/or approved to race I


If you intend to ALSO race Mass Start: 

  • Arrive in SLC no later than Thursday, October 15th 
  • Following USOPC protocol for moderate risk activity, the next three days should include no high risk activities (For example, eating in restaurants) 
  • 1st COVID-19 test on Monday (current hours 7am-12:30pm) 
  • 2nd COVID-19 test on Tuesday (current hours 7am-12:30pm)
  • While you undergo these tests you can train on public drop-in speed skating sessions but not on FAST/NT ice 
  • Both tests have to come back negative before will be allowed on FAST/NT training sessions and/or approved to race 

All participants will be required to self-monitor and record their daily temperature for 14 days prior to the first day of competition. Participants must provide proof on Thursday, October 22nd no later than noon (MT) to Matt Kooreman.

If you are currently training with a program/club outside of Utah you will need to notify Matt Kooreman at mkooreman@usspeedskating.org of your intention to participate to receive additional information for incoming athletes and coaches. 

Program:

Day 1:500m L & M, 3000m L, 5000m M
Day 2: 1000m L & M, Mass Start (2x) L & M
Day 3: 1500m L& M, 5000m L, 10,000m M

Qualifying Times:

To compete in the USS Fall International Race in any event other than the 500m, competitor must have met a D1 level time standard for Seniors and a D2 level time standard for Juniors and Mastersafter December 27th, 2019 and prior to the event entry deadline. Andy D1 or D2 time standard will make an athlete eligible for all events except the 5000m ladies and 10,000m men. 

Eligibility to compete in the 5000m ladies and 10,000m men will be the C time standard in the 3000m ladies and 5000m men.

Time standard to participate in the 5000m Ladies or 10,000m Men are: 5000m L 4:30.00 and 10,000m M 7:02.00

A coaches meeting will be held on Thursday, October 22nd at 17:30 virtually via Zoom. All coaches, who were named by athletes in the registration process, will receive an invite.
