Badminton will make its Paralympic debut at the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo. The International Paralympic Committee announced the addition of the sport to the Paralympic program on October 7, 2014.

There are six classifications for badminton, with classes for athletes who are in wheelchairs, standing or have dwarfism.

Badminton is played on an indoor court, with single, double or mixed events offered. Paralympic badminton is played according to the laws and regulations of the Badminton World Federation, with allowances made for certain classifications.

The U.S. Paralympic Badminton Team and the day-to-day operations of the high performance program are overseen by USA Badminton.
