Club Description

Georgia Association Of Blind Athletes is a 501 (c) (3) non profit who is devoted to making a difference in the lives of Blind and visually impaired youth and adults. We promote, provide, and advocate sports, recreational and social opportunities for blind and visually impaired persons. Our Main Program is the sport of goalball. Goalball is the only team sport in the United States that was specifically created for blind and visually impaired that is played on the paralympic level. We have youth and Adult members that play recreationally and/or competitively. Our players range from developmental all the way to one of our players being on the US Paralympic team, that competed in the London 2012 paralympic games. Our Youth girls team have been youth national champions for the past two years, and our women's team is ranked one of the top in the country. One of our major goals is for the sport of goalball to be introduced, practiced, and if desired to be competed in by as many blind/visually impaired people in georgia that are interested. As a part of our program we do interactive demonstrations/clinics around the state. We also strive to expand our programs and offerings to the visually impaired and blind across the state.
