Clara Brown earned a silver medal in the WC3 scratch race at the 2020 UCI Para-cycling World Championships in Milton, Ontario. 

MILTON, Ontario – Team USA earned six podium finishes on day three of competition, including one gold medal and three silvers. Clara Brown (Falmouth, Maine) stole the top spot by winning the women’s C3 omnium gold medal at the 2020 UCI Para-cycling Track World Championships held at Mattamy National Cycling Center in Milton, Ontario.

Double Rainbow - Brown earned another set of rainbow stripes after her second place finish in the women’s C3 scratch race catapulted her to the omnium gold medal. Brown’s second world championship title brings her career medal tally to six, with four medals on the track and two medals on the road. 

Silver Lining - After a hard fought week, Sam Bosco (Upland, California) battled to two world championship medals, including a bronze medal in the women’s C4 scratch race. That third place finish pushed Bosco to the silver medal in the women’s C4 omnium. Bosco is an eight-time world championship medalist in the C5 classification in which she previously competed. 

Triple Bronze  - In addition to Bosco’s bronze, teammates Shawn Morelli (Meadville, Pennsylvania) and Aaron Keith (Woodinville, Washington) also notched third-place finishes. Morelli held on to the third spot in the women’s C4 individual pursuit, while Keith garnered enough points to finish third in the men’s C1 omnium. 

Competition concludes Sunday evening from Milton, Ontario.

“I’m glad I’m done with pursuit. I put everything into my qualifying run because I knew I had to give it my all to make it into the top four. I couldn’t leave anything in reserve for later in the day, so I was ecstatic to make it into the top four. Focusing to stay in the medal race mentally took a lot, but I got it done.
