Quotes
Joe Berenyi
“I’m really happy with the kilo race. It was my personal-best time at sea level, and I was definitely focused on this event. I really wanted to defend my title in this race, and I’m so glad I was able to do that to make it five in a row for the kilo.”

Justin Widhalm
“This is major redemption for me. When I heard the announcer say ‘new best time’ and there were only three riders remaining, I knew I had a great chance. After the next rider, it was clear I had a medal and I was ecstatic. I’m relieved to win my first world championships medal.”

Chris Murphy

“I was ecstatic to get the team on the board, and I’m hungry for more. Although I was disappointed that the gate malfunctioned, which slowed me down on the opening lap, I decided to focus on being on the podium and hopefully have more success in the remaining races throughout the weekend.”
