Team USA Medal Tracker: Para Alpine Skiing World Cup Zagreb

Thomas Walsh, pictured above at the Paralympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018, will compete in slalom at Team USA's first world cup of the season in Zagreb, Croatia.

 

After a series of world cups that were cancelled due to weather and snow conditions, Team USA athletes Thomas Walsh and Spencer Wood made their world cup debuts in the slalom discipline at the World Para Alpine Skiing World Cup in Zagreb, Croatia. This will be the last major race before next week's World Para Alpine Skiing Championships in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia and Sella Nevea, Italy from Jan. 21-Feb. 1.

In Zagreb, Thomas Walsh and Spencer Wood both collected their first world cup medals of the season in men's slalom competition, giving them great momentum heading into next week's World Para Alpine Skiing Championships. Wood's bronze medal marked his first career world cup podium since beginning with the U.S. program in 2015. Walsh and Wood will join the rest of Team USA (see full team announcement) in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia for the start of technical events (slalom, giant slalom) beginning Jan. 21.
