Preview: World Para Nordic Skiing Championships

Oksana Masters is set to compete alongside Dan Cnossen, Kendall Gretsch and Aaron Pike at the World Para Nordic Skiing Championships beginning Saturday.

Looking to continue its success on the snow following the first two world cup stops of the season, four U.S. athletes will compete at the 2019 World Para Nordic Skiing Championships in Prince George, British Columbia, from Feb. 16-24. Athletes competing include Dan Cnossen (Topeka, Kansas), Kendall Gretsch (Downers Grove, Illinois), Oksana Masters (Louisville, Kentucky) and Aaron Pike (Park Rapids, Minnesota), all of which competed at the Paralympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 and brought home a total of 13 medals for Team USA. Fans can watch the 2019 World Para Nordic Skiing Championships on the Olympic Channel, and follow the Team USA Medal Tracker once competition begins.

Dan Cnossen (Topeka, Kansas)

Paralympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 results:

  • Gold (7.5km biathlon), silver (12.5km biathlon, 15km cross-country, 15km biathlon, 7.5km cross-country), bronze (cross-country sprint)

2015 World Para Nordic Skiing Championships results:

  • 5th (biathlon individual, cross-country sprint), 6th (cross-country middle-distance), 7th (biathlon sprint), 8th (biathlon middle-distance, cross-country long-distance)

 

Kendall Gretsch (Downers Grove, Illinois)

PyeongChang 2018 results:

  • Gold (6km biathlon, 12km cross-country), 4th (10 km biathlon), 6th (5km cross-country), 7th (mixed 4x2.5km cross-country), 8th (12.5km biathlon)

 

Oksana Masters (Louisville, Kentucky)

PyeongChang 2018 results:

  • Gold (1.1km cross-country, 5km cross-country), silver (6km biathlon, 12.5km biathlon), bronze (12km cross-country)

2017 World Para Nordic Skiing Championships results:

  • Gold (cross-country sprint, middle-distance and long-distance; biathlon sprint), bronze (biathlon individual), 4th (biathlon middle-distance)

 

Aaron Pike (Park Rapids, Minnesota)

PyeongChang 2018 results:

  • 6th (15km biathlon, cross-country sprint), 7th (12.5km biathlon), 12th (7.5km biathlon)

2017 World Para Nordic Skiing Championships results:

  • 4th (individual biathlon), 5th (sprint-distance biathlon), 8th (middle-distance cross-country), 9th (cross-country sprint)
