(R-L) Brenna Huckaby, her daughter Lilah and her husband, Tristan Clegg smile for a photo.
When two-time Paralympic gold medalist Brenna Huckaby got married in June, the snowboarder thanked her 3-year-old daughter Lilah for being the star of the show. On Monday, Lilah again took center stage to announce some happy news on Instagram: she’ll soon have a sibling.
In a video shot by Huckaby’s husband Tristan Clegg, Lilah also shared an expected due date of January.
“We are so excited to become a family of 4 (5 including the Benny boi)! I have so much to say, but I'll save it for another day,” Huckaby wrote in an accompanying post, “thank you to everyone who continues to support us during this amazing time.”
Huckaby and Clegg were married this summer in Moab, Utah, near their home in Salt Lake City. That’s where Huckaby trains, and also where she met Clegg, who was also a competitive snowboarder. The couple even got engaged on top of Snowbird Mountain in 2018.
Huckaby made her Paralympic debut at the Paralympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018, immediately making an impact with gold medals in both snowboardcross and banked slalom. Huckaby is also a three-time world champion, with two gold medals in snowboardcross and one in banked slalom.
Originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the 23-year-old moved to Utah in high school in order to train. Off the slopes, she made history in 2018 as the first Paralympian to appear in the “Sports Illustrated” swimsuit edition.
