Following its repeat gold-medal performance at the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games, the U.S. Paralympic Sled Hockey Team and its "Bravo Delta Line" of military veterans were honored at several events across the country in the fall of 2014. The newly-nominated 2014-15 U.S. National Sled Hockey Team attended a reception and subsequent team training camp in Washington, D.C., in early October. Following that event, three members of the team – Rico Roman (U.S. Army retired), Paul Schaus (U.S. Marine Corps retired) and Joshua Sweeney (U.S. Marine Corps retired) – continued onto a celebration in Los Angeles with the NHL's LA Kings, hosted by AEG. The trio who call themselves the "Bravo Delta Line" capped off their tour with a Veterans Day reception in Denver hosted by the Daniels Fund – a private foundation dedicated to funding programs that support the military, disabled and amateur sports in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming. In addition to celebrating the success of the 2014 gold medalists, the tour encouraged donations to the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Foundation, the philanthropic branch of the United States Olympic Committee. A separate nonprofit formed in 2013, the USOPF is dedicated to generating continued financial support for Team USA’s athletes and programs.
