Achieving Sustained Competitive Excellence

Many factors contribute to the success of a team. Through athlete financial aid and sport performance support, the USOC strives to give the greatest number of U.S. high performance athletes the opportunity to reach the podium. The USOPF plays a critical role in sustaining these efforts, while making possible incremental investments in developmental sports and athletes in order to diversify the U.S. medal count at the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The USOC and its supporters continually fund activities and services that will help our nation’s athletes reach their fullest potential. Part of this commitment includes supplying the best environments for athletes to train and compete. At the USOC’s three premier U.S. Olympic Training Centers, athletes are equipped with a network of scientists, doctors and athletic trainers, and have exclusive access to state-of-the-art facilities and sports technology.

Additionally, the USOC and its NGBs provide athletes with high performance leadership, coaching, nutrition, recovery programs, strength and conditioning, sport psychology, physiology, technology, travel, equipment and other services to support their competition needs.

When athletes achieve the goal of being named to Team USA for an Olympic or Paralympic Games, they receive housing, training facilities, food services, security, media training, on-site transportation, medical services and more throughout their Games experience.
