NEW GLOUCESTER, Maine (Feb. 2, 2021) -- The U.S. Biathlon International Competition Committee has finalized the rosters for the third and fourth IBU Cup competitions taking place in Brezno-Osrblie, Slovakia. The 10-person team will compete in sprints and pursuits the first weekend, Feb. 13-14, before embarking on a more comprehensive schedule the following weekend (Feb. 17-21) that includes short individual races and relays in addition to another round of sprints and pursuits.
"Congratulations to the athletes heading to Osrblie," said U.S. Biathlon Director of High Performance Lowell Bailey. "Most of the roster is coming off some great results at Open European Championships and, with the addition of Mikayla Maier, Luke Brown and Carsen Campbell to the team, it is sure to be an exciting double-week series in Slovakia."
The U.S. women's roster for the next two IBU Cup events will consist of Maddie Phaneuf (Old Forge, N.Y.), Hallie Grossman (Craftsbury, Vt.), Kelsey Dickinson (Winthrop, Wash.), Lucy Hochschartner (Lake Placid, N.Y.) and Mikayla Maier (Bozeman, Mont.). The men's IBU Cup team will be Raleigh Goessling (Duluth, Minn.), Vasek Cervenka (Grand Rapids, Minn.), Vincent Bonacci (Salt Lake City, Utah), Luke Brown (Saint Paul, Minn.) and Carsen Campbell (Bozeman, Mont.).
The team for the final IBU Cup in Ridnaun-Val Ridanna, Italy, March 10-14, will be selected following the racing in Brezno-Osrblie.
