NEW GLOUCESTER, Maine (March 14, 2020) -- The 2020 US Biathlon National Championships and the North American Championships, planned to be held in West Yellowstone, Montana March 27-29, are officially canceled due to the escalating COVID-19 pandemic.

“The health of our athletes and all people involved in our sport is of paramount importance. As society faces a global pandemic it is also our obligation to do everything possible to slow the spread of COVID-19,” said Max Cobb, US Biathlon President and CEO. "A national coming together to celebrate sport is not possible under these conditions.”

US Biathlon congratulates all the athletes on a very successful season that saw Susan Dunklee become the first American biathlete to win a second World Championship medal, as well as US Biathlon team medals at the Youth World Championships, the IBU Cup, and the IBU Junior Cup.  Thanks to everyone in the US Biathlon community for a very successful season that saw tremendous growth across the nation especially at the  grass-roots level.
