OSLO, Norway (February 14, 2015) - Hannah Dreissigacker (Morrisville, Vt.) continued her impressive World Cup season with a career-best 16th place in Saturday's women's sprint in Oslo, Norway. Her previous best 17th-place finish was achieved in December in Pokljuka, Slovenia.

On a cloudy and windless day, with temperatures just above freezing, Dreissigacker shot clean, hitting all 10 targets and crossing the line with a time of 21:35.8 in the 92-woman field. Darya Domracheva of Belarus also shot clean and skied to victory in 20:35.7, just over a minute ahead of Dreissigacker. Germany's Laura Dahlmeier went clean to finish second, 14.3 seconds back of Domracheva. Third place went to France's Marie Dorin Habert, with one penalty, 29.9 seconds back.

"I'm really happy with today's race," said Dreissigacker. "It is always such a thrill to shoot clean, and it was especially fun to do it with my boyfriend and parents here watching. On the last lap I was getting splits about being five seconds out of 6th, and I fought really hard. The results were so tight around me...I hope that I can be skiing just a bit faster at world championships so that I can be even higher up if I shoot clean. But mostly, I'm just really psyched to have a new personal best."

Annelies Cook (Saranac Lake, N.Y.) was 65th (23:04.5/+3), Susan Dunklee (Barton, Vt.) came in 69th (23:08.2/+4), and Clare Egan (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) placed 91st (25:16.6/+6). Full women's sprint results are available here.

In the men's 10km sprint, Leif Nordgren (Marine, Minn.) was the top American in 29th place (26:18.7/+1), followed by Lowell Bailey (Lake Placid, N.Y.) in 63rd (27:12.6/+2) and Tim Burke (Paul Smiths, N.Y.) in 68th (37:20.9/+3). Germany's Arnd Peiffer had clean shooting and a brilliant last loop to win the men's sprint in 24:57. Martin Fourcade of France finished second, 3.3 seconds back while Russia's Anton Shipulin placed third, 15.4 seconds behind Peiffer. Full men's sprint results are available here.

The World Cup in Oslo concludes Sunday with the men's and women's relays. The U.S. will field the team of Dreissigacker, Cook, Dunklee and Egan in the women's 4x6km relay which begins at 6:15 a.m. EST, followed by the men's 4x7.5km relay at 8:15 a.m. Live streaming coverage of both races can be seen here.
