Sochi Spotlight on Susan Dunklee

Susan posted five top-15 world cup finishes during the 2012-13 season in just her second year of world cup racing. She had a stellar rookie campaign, placing fifth in the individual event at the 2012 World Championships to tie the best result by an American woman in history. She is making her first Olympic appearance following a historic 4th place finish in the 7.5-kilometer sprint at World Cup 6 in Antholz, Italy in January.


Susan is the daughter of Stan Dunklee and Judi Robitaille-Dunklee, and has two brothers, Eric and Sten. Her father is a two-time Olympic cross-country skier, and her Uncle, Everett Dunklee, is an Olympic cross-country skier. Susan is a member of Craftsbury Outdoor Center's Green Racing Team, which influences others to make environmentally conscious decisions. A 2008 Dartmouth graduate, Susan was a two-time NCAA All-American in cross-country skiing in college. Her hobbies include trail building, gardening, camping, reading, biking, unicycling, woodworking, citizen science monitoring and bread baking.
