Shoot Your Shot: Biathlon Clinic!

Sun October 2, 2022
Lake Placid, NY

Details: This is a three-session biathlon clinic aimed at high school cross-country skiers who are interested in learning about biathlon! No shooting experience required. NYSEF’s Head Biathlon Coach, Maddie Phaneuf, will teach you about rifle safety, shooting basics, and what the sport of biathlon is all about. We will incorporate rollerskiing during sessions two and three. By the end of the three sessions you will be comfortable handling a .22 biathlon rifle safely, feel confident on the shooting range, gain some ski technique advice, and hopefully strike an interest in continuing biathlon this winter!

Requirements: Must be 15-18 years of age and have a background in cross-country skiing.

Cost: $150 total for all three sessions, this includes the use of a .22 rifle and ammunition.

Equipment to Bring: athletic clothing, running shoes, skate boots, skate rollerskis, skate poles, helmet, water and a snack

Note: Session 1 we will be running, no rollerskis required. Session 2 and 3 we will be rollerskiing. Contact maddiep@nysef.org if you need to borrow rollerski equipment.
