Podium Finishes:
Goalball (1 silver)
After a hard fought battle against the Brazilians, the U.S. men dropped the final match to bring home the silver medal. Brazil mounted a strong attack in the first half of the match and the U.S. was only able to answer two of Brazil’s eight points. Both teams scored twice in the second half to bring the final score to 10-4 in favor of Brazil.

Wheelchair Basketball (1 gold)
Team USA made the first basket of the game and never looked back as they stormed ahead to lead Canada by 24 points at halftime. During the third period, the U.S. extended their lead by 32 points. Canada came out strong during the fourth period scoring 15 points, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap on Team USA. The U.S. won the gold with a final score of 62-39, giving Canada silver and Argentina bronze. Mike Paye was the top scorer for the U.S. with 14 points, while Josh Turek and Brian Bell scored 12 apiece.
