Cycling – BMX   

Felicia Stancil and Alise Post advanced to the quarterfinals by placing third and sixth in the women’s time trial super final today at the Centennial Park Pan Am BMX Center. On the men’s side, Nic Long and Connor Fields also advanced with seventh- and 14th-place finishes. All four Americans will vie for a spot in the medal final when competition resumes Saturday (July 11).   

Diving 

Samantha Bromberg and Delaney Schnell advanced to the women’s 10-meter platform final by recording top-eight finishes in the preliminary round today at the CIBC Pan Am/Parapan Am Aquatics Center and Field House. Bromberg totaled 326.35 points over five dives and enters Saturday’s (July 11) medal round ranked third, while Schnell rounded out the top-eight with 265.20 points. Meanwhile, Zach Nees qualified for the men’s 3-meter springboard final with a 12-place finish (327.65 points) in the preliminary round. Cory Bowersox placed 14th overall with 321.35 points, and will not advance. MORE

Tennis

Jean-Yves Aubone defeated Mexico’s Hans Hach, 2-1, and Austin Gonzales topped Bolivia’s Federico Zeballos, 2-0, in the opening round of men’s singles competition at the Canadian Tennis Center. Competition continues Saturday (July 11) with the second round of men’s singles play, and the opening round of the women’s singles and men’s doubles tournaments. MORE
