Based and founded in Wooster, Ohio the Adaptive Sports Program of Ohio (ASPO) is a non-proft 501(c)3 organization offering competitive and recreational adaptive sport opportunities for individuals with physical disabilities in the State of Ohio.

Cincinatti Para-Swimming Open

This meet serves as the largest non-championship meet for U.S. Paralympics in the United States. Held at The University of Cincinnati Keating Aquatic Center the meet has served to bring many new swimmers into the Paralympic Movement to compete and represent their respective Paralympic teams on the national and international level.


Cincinnati IceBreakers

The Cincinnati IceBreakers, a not-for-profit organization, operating under Ohio Sled Hockey, offers adaptive ice hockey or ‘sled’ hockey to youth and adults who are unable to skate in a standing position due to a physical disability.


Cincinnati Recreation Commission

Cleveland Wheelchair Cavaliers

Your Cleveland Wheelchair Cavaliers compete on a national level, recently having won the 2010 NWBA DIV III Championship. The team is comprised of residents from throughout NE Ohio.


Columbus Recreation and Parks Department

The Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, Therapeutic Recreation, sponsors recreational activities that are modified to meet the needs of individuals with disabilities. Therapeutic Recreation enhances an individual's physical, social, and lifetime recreational interests in a broad spectrum of leisure experiences. Therapeutic Recreation welcomes and encourages everyone, including the non-disabled, to participate.

Great Miami Rowing Center

The Great Miami Rowing Center (GMRC) dba as Great Miami Rowing Foundation is devoted to supporting recreational use of the Great Miami River in Hamilton through collaborative infrastructure development and scholarship funding.


Greater Columbus Rowing Association

GCRA is a non-profit, volunteer-based adult organization dedicated to providing its diverse membership safe sculling and sweep rowing opportunities, from beginner to competitive levels. GCRA is committed to promoting and fostering interest in the sport of rowing through programming, through teaching and by organizing regattas.


Miami Valley Adapted Sports

Miami Valley Adapted Sports is a nonprofit agency supporting recreational opportunities to the disabled in West-Central Ohio. The program has formed partnerships with local organizations, schools and parks and recreation districts. MVAS’s goal is to make sure all people living with disabilities in the area have access to the array of recreational opportunities offered by local area agencies and organizations.

Ohio Sled Hockey

The mission of Ohio Sled Hockey is to provide the opportunity for individuals with physical limitations to learn about and participate in the sport of hockey. Our focus is on developing each athlete through instruction, encouragement, evaluation, and competition. This progression promotes and improves the sport of sled hockey by allowing local players to participate from novice to national level of play.

We provide equine therapy to all children and adults in an effort to improve their functioning and well-being in life. To continue developing and maintaining a program that builds the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of all people, particularly those with special needs, through the discipline and structure of equine interaction and therapeutic riding.To foster and maintain a safe atmosphere of cooperation, respect, and love that is healing and nurturing for all our clients and their families.

SPIRE respects and honors the principles that built our nation and displays loyalty to those who serve and have served to preserve these principles. Its ultimate vision as a one-of-a-kind non-profit is to cultivate character and produce good citizens who know how to cooperate, compete and lead. SPIRE invites athletes at all levels, in all sports, from all backgrounds to join us. SPIRE is for high achieving athletes training to reach their peak, but it is just as tailored to high school students and active seniors, Paralympians and Special Olympians, Wounded Warriors and weekend warriors.

Team River Runner Cincinnati OH/Northern KY

Team River Runner (TRR), established in August 2004 by kayakers in the Washington, DC area, is a primarily volunteer non-profit organization run by a council of kayakers and overseen by a board of directors. TRR was initially established to help active duty military personnel wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan who were recovering at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. With the success there obvious and the opportunity elsewhere apparent, TRR expanded to other Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) chapter sites in 2007. TRR envisions a national network which creates innovative paddling programs designed to assist with the recovery of those injured while serving our country. Through paddle sports, TRR volunteers and partners provide local communities unique opportunities for the active, safe and positive support of healing service members and their families.
