The United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee Sports Medicine department provides volunteer opportunities for qualified sports medicine providers to support U.S. Olympic and Paralympic athletes in achieving sustained competitive excellence. This program offers volunteers the opportunity to support Team USA by working with USOPC team members in providing an integrative, collaborative, multidisciplinary care approach for Team USA athletes. Volunteers must meet the requirements outlined HERE and once selected will have the opportunity to collaborate and work alongside the USOPC Sports Medicine Team.

Who: All licensed athletic trainers, chiropractors, massage therapists, physical therapists, and physicians who have been credentialed for a minimum of three years.*(see chart for details) 
What: Volunteer your skills and time to support the Olympic and Paralympic Movement by providing care to Team USA athletes. 
When: Two-week rotations are available throughout the year. 
Where: Colorado Springs, Colorado; Chula Vista, California; & Lake Placid, New York

COVID-19 Considerations:

To protect the health and safety of our athletes, volunteer rotations are only available to those health care providers who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Additionally, all volunteers will be required to follow the prevention strategies outlined in our COVID-19 Playbook during their rotation.

*For active-duty military physicians: The USOPC is a non-federal, nonprofit corporation. Please be aware that fee-exempt federal DEA licenses are not portable for non-official non-federal use. A personally held DEA license should be used for any prescriptions written. Additionally, discuss with your local command regarding the appropriate duty status: typically, permissive TDY vs. leave. Consider speaking with your leadership regarding an off-duty employment agreement for this volunteer work.
