Happy birthday, Apolo Anton Ohno! This speedskating legend turns 38 today!
Ohno first rose to prominence in 1997, when he won his first American speedskating title at just 14 years old. Ohno went on to compete for over a decade in short track speedskating.
Ohno made his Olympic debut at the Olympic Winter Games Salt Lake City 2002 and brought home both a gold and silver medal. In total, Ohno won eight Olympic medals and 21 World Championship medals before retiring after his third Olympic Games appearance in 2010.
Ohno has kept busy in retirement, including a book deal, two appearances on the hit show "Dancing With The Stars", and providing television commentary for the most recent two Olympic Winter Games in 2014 and 2018.
