Alpine Skiing:
Tommy Ford finished eighth in giant slalom at the world cup in Hinterstoder, Austria.
Climbing:
Colin Duffy qualified for Tokyo 2020 with a first-place finish as Team USA claimed an additional seven top-10 finishes at the Pan American Continental Championships in Los Angeles.
Diving:
Michael Hixon earned a bronze medal at the world cup in Montreal, while Americans earned eight total top-10 finishes.
Equestrian:
Brian Moggre led the U.S. team of Andrew Kocher, Lucas Porter and Adrienne Sternlicht to a first-place finish at the jumping Nations Cup in Wellington, Florida.
Freestyle Skiing:
Chris Lillis finished first and Megan Nick finished second at the aerials world cup in Almaty, Kazakhstan, while Justin Schoenefeld secured a fifth-place finish, as Alex Hall finished sixth in men’s big air at the world cup in Destne, Czech Republic.
Karate:
Sakura Kokumai finished second at the Karate-1 Premier League event in Salzburg, Germany.
Long Track Speedskating:
Brittany Bowe claimed a bronze medal in the 1,000-meter at the world sprint event in Hamar, Norway.
Luge:
Summer Britcher, Tucker West, Chris Mazdzer and Jayson Terdiman earned a team silver medal at the world cup in Koenigssee, Germany, and Britcher finished fifth in women’s singles.
Melissa Stockwell and Amy Dixon both finished second in their respective classifications at the world series stop in Devonport, Australia.
Rugby:
Team USA beat Ireland, 24-19, to finish fifth at the tournament in Los Angeles.
Sailing:
Paige Railey finished 14th at the Laser Radial Women's World Championship in Melbourne, while Farrah Hall finished 35th at the windsurfing world championship, both securing spots on the U.S. Olympic Team.
Shooting:
Keith Sanderson won the rapid fire air rifle event at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Fort Benning, Georgia, earning a spot on his fourth Olympic team, while trap shooters Derrick Mein, Brian Burrows, Kayle Browning and Madelynn Bernau also earned spots.
Table Tennis:
Juan Liu claimed the final table tennis slot with her win at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in Santa Monica, California, and Huijing Wang finished second.
Track Cycling:
The quartet of Chloe Dygert, Jennifer Valente, Emma White and Lily Williams earned a gold medal in the team pursuit at the world cup in Berlin, while Team USA earned 11 total top-10 finishes.
Track and Field:
Tuliamuk and Rupp won the women’s and men’s marathon held in Atlanta, while Molly Seidel, Sally Kipyego, Jacob Riley and Abdi Abdirahman also qualified for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020.
Also This Week:
- Snowboarders Jamie Anderson, Dusty Henrickson and Red Gerard all landed on the podium at the U.S. Open held in Vail, Colorado, while Team USA finished with five top-10 finishes.
- Amanda Sobhy and Olivia Blatchford Clyne advanced to the quarterfinals at the Windy City Open in Chicago, which continues through March 4.
