Team USA celebrated its first ever Olympic and Paralympic Day presented by Toyota on June 23 and while they’ll have to wait another year to compete in the Tokyo Games, athletes used the day to recognize the importance of being a part of a unified team.

“When I was 15 years old and attending my first Paralympics in Athens I dreamed of this day when the Olympics and Paralympics were one because I never saw a difference and now here we are. One team,” Para track athlete Tatyana McFadden tweeted.
