The nation's best figure skaters descended on Greensboro, North Carolina, last week for the U.S. Figure Skating Championships as the opening event of the 2020 Team USA Champions Series, presented by Xfinity.
This year’s competition included the return of fan favorites, dominant showings from Team USA mainstays, and a number of performances that moved fans to tears.
There was plenty of action in men's and women's singles, pairs and ice dance, including history in each: Nathan Chen became the first man to four-peat in 32 years, 14-year-old Alysa Liu was the first woman to defend her title in seven years, ice dancers Madison Chock and Evan Bates set the longest gap between wins and husband-and-wife pairs team Alexa and Chris Knierim returned to the top after their worst season yet and as the oldest team in the field.
Below are some of the standout photos from the competition.
