Ashton Eaton and Brianne Theisen-Eaton attend Gold Meets Golden Event on Jan. 7, 2017 in Los Angeles.
It’s a boy! And another boy! And a girl!
A trio of Olympic and Paralympic stars saw their families grow by one in the past week as figure skater Sasha Cohen, decathlete Ashton Eaton and para snowboarder Brenna Huckaby all welcomed new babies to the world.
Cohen, 35, announced the arrival of her first child with fiancée Geoffrey Lieberthal a week ago Friday, sharing a photo on Instagram taken shortly after the birth with the caption, “Completely and irrationally in love with the newest addition to our family.”
She later shared a pic of her holding her little one, captioned “Mom life,” and a few days later announced that the baby is a boy named Dashiell Lev Lieberthal along with a photo of him at a doctor’s appointment. Cohen competed in both the 2002 and 2006 Olympic Winter Games and won the silver medal in 2006.
Eaton and his wife, Brianne Theisen-Eaton, said hello to their little future track and field star on Jan. 21, which just also happens to be dad’s birthday.
“Thank you all for the birthday wishes on the 21st,” Eaton wrote on Twitter, sharing two pictures of the new family of three. “It was super special; Brianne gave birth to our son that day. His name is Ander. Being a dad is the most exciting and awesome thing I’ve ever done.”
With dad being a two-time Olympic gold medalist in the decathlon and mom being an Olympic medalist in heptathlon for Canada, little Ander is certain to keep his parents on the move.
While Cohen and Eaton are first-time parents, Huckaby announced that she’s now the mommy of not one but two little girls with the birth of daughter Sloan this past Friday. The two-time Paralympic gold medalist in snowboarding shared a sweet pic of her in her hospital bed holding Sloan with big sister Lilah beaming at her side. Huckaby announced the pregnancy at the end of August via an adorable video of husband Tristan Clegg asking Lilah why they were at the doctor’s office and the 3-year-old answering because they had to check the baby in mommy’s tummy.
“We are so thankful for healthy baby, healthy mommy, and healthy family,” she wrote in announcing Sloan’s arrival.
