Jacob Dalton competes on the rings at the 2016 Men's Gymnastics Olympic Trials on June 23, 2016 in St. Louis, Missouri.

When your baby is born on Thanksgiving day, it has to be pretty easy to figure out what you’re most thankful for in 2020.

That was the case for two-time Olympian Jake Dalton and his wife Kayla, who welcomed daughter Lucca Rose on Nov. 26.

“Well a much longer Thanksgiving BUT one we will never forget and one we are incredibly thankful for,” Jake wrote on Instagram. “I can’t wait to make so many memories and watch you grow ... hopefully not too fast.”

Lucca is the first child for Jake and Kayla, who were married in 2014. They both were gymnasts at the University of Oklahoma, where Jake was a four-time NCAA champion. Kayla’s career came to a premature end in college due to injury.

Jake made his Olympic debut in London in 2012, helping Team USA to a fifth-place finish and placing fifth individually in floor exercise. He returned to the Games in 2016, again finishing fifth with Team USA while placing sixth in floor. In between, Dalton won four world championship medals, highlighted by a silver medal in floor exercise in 2013.

Dalton retired from gymnastics in 2017 after approximately 21 years in the sport.
