Jordan Burroughs claimed his seventh career medal at the wrestling world championships over the weekend. Before leaving Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, he had one more piece of business to take care of: a baby announcement.

“There’s beauty in every struggle; new life in every new day,” he wrote on Instagram. “There’s something about 3rd that has a nice ring to it. I’m thankful for my bronze medal at the World Championships, but even more excited to announce Baby Burroughs number three coming Christmas 2019!”

Burroughs and wife Lauren welcomed their first son, Beacon, on July 19, 2014, followed by a daughter, Ora, on June 11, 2016.

“Adding medals, adding babies,” Lauren posted to her Instagram. “Typical legendary stuff over here. The third Baby Burroughs coming Christmas 2019. God is good. P.s. Do you guys know how hard it is to hide a baby for six months?!”

Burroughs on Saturday defeated Japan’s Mao Okui to win his third world bronze medal in men’s freestyle wrestling. He has also won four world titles, in addition to the 2012 Olympic gold medal, all in the 74 kg. weight category.

It’s already been a memorable summer for Burroughs, who in August won his third straight Pan American Games gold medal after going 3-0 and defeating two former world medalists. He clinched the title on the anniversary of his 2012 Olympic-winning performance.
