In January 2018, Olympic gold medalist Julia Mancuso donned a Captain Marvel suit and cape for her final competitive run down the slopes at the world cup in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy.
Mancuso was back in a Wonder Woman outfit in a similar pose Monday on Instagram, but this time she was showing off a baby bump.
Using the hashtag #momsaretherealsuperheroes, Mancuso posted the photo with the caption, “We've been keeping a little secret from you guys … coming soon … July 2019.”
A second photo with the post showed her and husband Dylan Fish on the beach. Both the mountains and the beach are important to the couple, and they even had two weddings to prove it. They were first married in Mancuso’s hometown of Squaw Valley, California, in 2016, then a year later in Fiji, where Fish is a resort general manager. This will be the first child for the couple, but Mancuso didn’t drop any hints on the gender.
Mancuso is the most decorated American woman in alpine skiing at the Olympic Winter Games, with four medals to her name including gold in giant slalom in 2006. She also won a pair of silver medals in Vancouver in 2010, one in downhill and one in combined, plus a combined bronze medal from 2014 in Sochi. She also has five world championship medals to go along with seven career world cup wins before retiring from the circuit after the 2017-18 season.
